රැප් සංගීත ලොව එදා මෙදා පහලවූ ශිල්පීන් අතරින් සදා නොමියන චරිතය ටූපක් අමරු ශකූර් (Tupak Amaru Shakur).
සංගීතය යනු විශ්වමය බසක්. ජාති, ආගම්, කුලමල භේද, මායිම් සීමාවලින් තොරව හදවතට අමතන්නක්. විවිධ සංගීත ශෛලියන් අතර ඇමෙරිකානු කළු ජනතාව අතරින් පැන නැගුනු ඔවුන්ගේ සිතේ දුක් දෝමනස්සයන් නිර්මාණයන් ලෙසින් එළි දැක්වුණු Rap/HipHop සංගීතය අද ලොව පුරා ජනප්‍රිය වී තිබෙනවා. Oscar වැනි සම්මාන උළෙලවල පවා සම්මානයට පාත්‍ර වී තිබෙනවා.

ඒ අන් කවරෙකුවත් නොව මරණින් වසර 22ට පසු පවා ලොව පහල වූ අසහාය රැප් ගායනා ශිල්පියා සේ සැලකෙන ටූපක් අමරු ශකූර් (Tupak Amaru Shakur). ඇමෙරිකානු සමාජයේ පවත්නා කළු-සුදු භේදය, දරිද්‍රතාව, මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය කළු ජීවිතවල සිදුවන බිඳ වැටීම් හා ඒවායේ අනිටු ප්‍රතිපල ගැන නිබඳ සිය නිර්මාණ තුලින් කතා කළ ඔහුගේ එකම සිහිනය වූයේ වඩා සාධාරණ යහපත් ලෝකයක් ගොඩනැගීමයි. කළු ජාතික ජනාධිපතිවරයෙකු පාලනය කරන අමෙරිකාවක් දැකීම ඔහුගේ එක සිහිනයක් වුණා. 2009දී ඒ සිහිනය සැබෑ කරමින් කළු සම්භවයක් ඇති බැරක් ඔබාමා ජනපති වනු දකින්නට ටූපක්ට නොහැකි වූයේ 1996 ඔහු අකාලයේ ඝාතනය වන නිසා(මේ මරණය අදටද නොවිසඳුණු ගැටළුවක්.)

1988 දී කැලිෆෝර්නියාවට සංක්‍රමණය වීම ටූපක්ගේ ජීවිතයේ වැදගත් සන්ධිස්ථානයක් වුණා.පාසලේදී නාට්‍ය හා රංග කලාවට මෙන්ම සාහිත්‍යට ඔහු දක්වූ දස්කම් පසුකලෙක ඔහුගේ කලා දිවියට මං පෙත් විවර කළා.
“අපේ නිර්මාණ සමාජ යතාර්ථය පිළිබිඹු කරන ඒවා. එමගින් පවතින සමාජ ගැටළු හඳුනාගෙන වඩා යහපත් ලෝකයක් ගොඩනැගීම අපේ අරමුණ විය යුතුයි.”යනුවෙන් වරෙක ඔහු සඳහන් කරනවා.

සිරගතව සිටියදී Marion “Suge” Knight(ඇමෙරිකානු පාපන්දු ක්‍රීඩකයෙකු හා ව්‍යවසායකයෙකු වූ) හා සම්බන්ධ වීම ටූපක්ගේ ජීවිතයේ හැරවුම් ලක්ෂ්‍යයක් වුණා. 1995-96 යුගයේ ආන්දෝලනාත්මක සිදුවීම් මාලාවකට මුල් වූ, බටහිර-නැගෙනහිර ඉවුරු රැප් අරගලයේ (west coast east coast rap rivalry) උපතට හේතු වූ Death Row Records බිහිවීම හා ටූපක් එහි මුල් පෙළ සාමාජිකයෙකු වන්නේ මේ සමගයි. මෙය නොසිතු තරමේ ජනප්‍රියත්වයක්, ධනයක් පසුපසම මහා අවාසනාවක් ද ගෙන ආ සිදුවීම් මාලාවක ආරම්භය වුණා.
